Worming Dogs & Puppies

Worms are parasites that can kill puppies and make adult dogs very unwell.

The most common worms that affect dogs and require treatment are:

  • Roundworm
  • Hookworm
  • Tapeworm
  • Whipworm

Worms are a common cause of ill health in dogs and puppies and can cause:

  • Loss of appetite
  • Vomiting 
  • Diarrhea 
  • Weight Loss 
  • Death
Don’t wait for debilitating symptoms to appear, worm control before they get a hold!

Where are Worms?

  • Contaminated water
  • Infected prey animals – rodents
  • Infected animal faeces
  • Other infected animals
  • Infected fleas

Can I see Worm?

  • Worm eggs, which are tiny, can sometimes be seen in your dog’s  faeces.
  • Round worm are long and thin can seen in  faeces and around the tail area.
  • Tapeworm, which look like grains of rice, can be seen around the tail

Are the obvious  symptoms?

  • Scooting or dragging the rear end indicates the presence of worm
  • Vomiting of roundworm by puppies indicates infestation
  • General debilitation and ill health

Worms cannot be prevented, only killed, so medication must given regularly.

Another reason for using worm control for your companion  is their potential to cause disease in people, with children being the most susceptible.
